S & DCC External Competitions for 2009 – 10 season

 

SPF Area 5 Way comp

 

This is a 5 club competition held mid November between - Stirling, Kirkintilloch, Falkirk, Cumbernauld & Kilsyth and Airdrie & Coatbridge. It is held in rotation and entry is 5 prints (either mono or colour) and 5 Digital projected images.

Maximum of 2 pieces of work from the same author in each section.

 

SPF Print Championship

 

This is an all day print competition held early December that involves about 40 Scottish photographic clubs and over 1000 entries. Each club member can enter up to 6 prints.

The Falkirk Battle

 

This was originally a slide competition and now digital projected.  Entry is 25 images per club with a maximum of 5 images from any one author.

Normally held late November.

 

Edinburgh P.S. 6 way

 

This was originally a 6-club competition started by Edinburgh Photographic Society and is held early December with the winning club hosting the next competition. Now hosted in rotation and only 5 clubs are involved, Edinburgh PS, Musselburgh, Bathgate, Haddington and Stirling.

Entry is 20 digital images per club.

 

3 Way Competition

 

This is a 4 mono print, 4 colour print and 8 Digital projected image competition from each club with maximum of 2 entries from the same photographer in each section between Stirling, Crieff and Auchterarder.

 

SPF Projected Image Championship

 

The above competition is new and was held for the first time in late February 2008 to replace the old Slide Championship.

Williamson Trophy

 

This is a print only competition held mid March between Stirling, Falkirk and Kirkintilloch. There is a mono and a colour section with a trophy for each.  Entry is 6 mono and 8 colour prints per club with a maximum of 2 entries by any one author in each section.

 

SPF Print and Slide Portfolios

 

This competition is judged behind closed doors but is open to all club members with submission dates usually by the end of April. The best entries are copied to DVD and provide an AV show that gets passed around all the participating clubs. All the rules, forms and details are on the SPF web site
